Both Kina Securities stock indices slid lower today, weakened by financial stocks decline on POMSoX. The main index or the KSi fell 0.71 points (-0.02%) at 3,904.34 points. The home index, the KSHi, also ended lower by 12.38 points (-0.15%) to 8,308.44 points.
Today’s trading registered two losses versus none of the stocks that rose.
Bank South Pacific (BSP) slipped a toea lower ending at K8.01, followed by City Pharmacy Limited (CPL) which shed 5 Toea at K1.85.
Oil Search Limited (OSH), PNG’s largest oil and gas producer, was the other stock that traded but remained at K16.06.
The total share traded today was at a volume of 6,156 unit worth K43,830.31.
On the overseas markets, U.S stocks declined amid uneventful session overnight as the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged 7.455 points lower to end at 15,392.20 points. Asian stocks and currencies generally softened with the Japanese Nikkei edging up 19.68 points higher, closing at 14,713.20 points. Hong Kong fell 0.52%. In Australia, the S&P/ASX200 advanced 21.37 points or 0.40% ending at 5,373.15 points, buoyed by the mining and banking sectors.
