POMSOX stocks extended gains on Monday with the Kina Securities main Index, KSi, climbing 44.25 points or 1.18% to 3,787.46 points. Meanwhile the Kina Securities home Index, KSHi, remained unchanged at 8,219.37 points.
Only one stock gained versus none that fell.
An Oil and Gas Company in Papua New Guinea, Oil Search Ltd (OSH) led the gains at K16.51, up 39 toea today.
Stocks that were unchanged were Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) at 19 toea flat, followed by New Britain Palm Oil (NBO) at K15.00.
Total shares registered today was 11,274 at a value worth of K33,058.55.
In New York, the Dow Average surged 167.80 points or 1.08% to a new record peak of 15,761.80 after the October Jobs data improved to 7.3% unemployment rate. Asian stocks outside Japan generally fell as investors await the outcome tomorrow of China’s leaders on economic reform meeting and Nikkei of Japan gained 162.45 points or 1.15% to 14,249.20 on positive U. S. Jobs data. Hang Seng added 0.07%. The ASX200 index closed at 5,389.50, down 11.17 points as the Chinese government later released news of a possible nationwide property tax in 2015.
