Wednesday’s trading session was modest as three stocks traded unchanged on POMSOX. The Kina Securities Main index, KSi was stable at 3,458.95 points while the Kina Securities Home Index or KSHi maintained at 9,744.44 points.
Stocks traded were the financials, Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) at K7.40 and K2.55 ended flat respectively. Oil Search Ltd (OSH) closed even at K15.00.
Total shares registered today were 21,254 points valued at K56,285.25.
In overnight trading, U.S stocks rose with the energy sector leading the gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 189.68 points or 1.09% to 17,630.27 points. However, Japan’s Nikkei share average fell hit by sharp falls in Fanuc Corp and Tokyo Electron after they cut their full year forecasts. Japanese Nikkei declined 23.92 points or 0.12% to 20,304.97 points today. The Australian stock market closed higher, tracking positive cues overnight from Wall Street and gains in commodity prices boosted resource stocks. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 added 48.82 points or 0.87% to 5,633.50 points.
