Wednesday’s POMSOX trading session closed on the green as both stock indices gained grounds. The Kina Securities main index KSi collected 57.54 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi surged 210.33 points or 1.98% to end at 10,838.78 points.
Three stocks gained compared to nil losses.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) both closed higher ending at K9.20 and K1.90, higher by 20toea and 2toea respectively. Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) edged higher by K1 to close at K46.00.
Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) both evened out at K2.70 and K17.50 flat respectively.
Total shares transacted was 10,021 shares valued K59,991.60.
In off-shore markets, U.S stocks gains came about after a solid round of corporate earnings boosted by investor sentiment after Trump’s inauguration. The Dow Jones Industrial average rose 112.86 points or 5.7% to finish at 19,912.71 points. Japanese stocks rose with a lift from record finishes on Wall Street on hopes the new U.S administration will push up growth through spending boost. The Nikkei share average gained 241.14 points or 1.28% to 19,029.13 points. The Australian stock market rose following record closing highs overnight on Wall Street. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 added 18.30 points or 0.32% to 5,690.50 points.
