Dual-listed energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was the only stock traded today, edging down by 20toea to end lower at K17.10. The stock registered a total of 8,557 shares valued at K146,324.70.
In offshore news, Major U.S stock indexes closed at record highs for a second straight session as the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 67.18 points or 0.4% to finish at 19,023.94 points. Japanese stocks edged up in choppy trade to close on a five-day winning streak but gains were limited as investors opted not to take big positions before a national holiday in Japan. The Nikkei rose 10.00 points or 0.05% to 18,200.00 points. The Australian stock market extended gains from the previous session, buoyed by positive lead from Wall Street and higher base metal prices. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 27.00 points or 0.50% to 5,444.30 points.
