POMSOX trading was quiet for Wednesday’s trading with the Kina Securities Index, KSi steady at 4,630.16 points. Likewise, the home index KSHi was also unchanged at 9,766.95 points.
Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) was the only stock traded unchanged at K1.68 with a total volume of 20,000 units valued at K33,600.00
In off-shore news, The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at fresh all-time highs, supported by a rally in energy shares and stronger-than-expected earnings from Alcoa Inc. The Dow industrials added 120.74 points, or 0.7%, to close at 18,347.67 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average rose to a more than a one-month high on Wednesday as speculators placed new bets on Prime Minister Shinzo Abe launching an aggressive policy mix of monetary and fiscal easing after his election victory. The Nikkei gained 135.78 points or 0.84% to 16,231.43 points. The Australian share market has closed moderately higher and for a fifth straight session as concerns over Brexit continue to ease, but investors are cautious. On Wednesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index was up 35.3 points, or 0.66% 5,388.50 points.
