KSi Daily Report: Wednesday, 11 January 2017

Both stock indices closed flat amid thin trading volume on Wednesday’s POMSOX trading session. The Kina Securities main index KSi was steady at 4,810.20 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was maintained at 10,628.45 points.

Oil Search Ltd was the only stock traded today, evening out at K17.45 with a volume of 309 shares valued at K5,392.05.

U.S stocks ended mixed as Nasdaq closed at a record high for a fourth session while the DJIA push toward 20,000 was again thwarted. The Dow slipped 31 points or 0.2% to close at 19,855 points. Japanese stocks edged up but trading is expected to be subdued ahead of a much-anticipated press conference by Trump in the day. The Nikkei share average rose 0.4% or 76.59 points to 19,378.03 points. The Australian stock market is modestly higher tracking positive cues overnight from Wall Street and higher commodity prices. The S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index gained 19.70 points or 0.34% to 5,780.40 points.
