Tuesday’s POMSOX trading closed amid a quiet trading session as both stock indices headed positively. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 33.76 points or 0.84% and likewise the Kina Securities Home Index rose 140.88 points or 1.55% to 9,228.15 points.
Banking and financial stock Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) was the only stock traded today. The stock closed 15toea higher at K1.80 registering a total of 20,000 shares valued at K36,000.00.
In offshore news, U.S stocks pared some early losses but still finished lower after a global equity selloff and continued pressure on oil prices. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 133.68 points or 0.75% to 17,603.32 points. Japanese stocks edged up as the yen retreated from a 17-month high against the U.S dollar. The Nikkei share average rose 37.80 points or 0.24% to 15,695.02 points. The Australian share market continued to trade higher, bucking falls across major international markets overnight. Gains were mainly seen among beaten-down energy and mining stocks. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 rose 21.51 points or 0.44% to 4,945.90 points.
