Wednesday’s POMSOX trading session was rather quiet as both stock indices maintained for a second consecutive day. The Kina Securities Main index KSi was steady at 5,467.04 points followed by the Kina Securities Home Index (KSHi) unchanged at 10,890.73 points.

In off-shore market news, U.S stocks started the first trading day on a positive note seeing the Dow Jones Industrial Average trading more than 100 points, thus looking at kicking off 2018 on solid grip with an increase of 104.79 points, or 0.42% , at 24,824.01. Japanese stocks closed on a negative note on the first trading day of the year with Nikkei share average sinking to 19.04 points or 0.08% to 22,764.94. The Australian market shook off yesterday’s sluggish start to the year after Wall Street headed into its first 2018 trading day on a high note as the benchmark index ASX 200 added 10.90 points or 0.18% to 6,072.20.
