KSi Daily Report: Tuesday, 8 October 2013

Both Kina Securities indices closed unchanged amid a few trades on POMSoX Tuesday. The Kina Securities main index, the KSi, closed flat at 3,955.08 from yesterday. Similarly, the Home index, or the KSHi, remained stable at 8,327.85 points.

Stocks traded unchanged for the day were Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) at K8.03 and Credit Corp Ltd (CCP) at K2.50. City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) both remained strong at K1.90 and K16.05 respectively.

The day’s trading recorded a light volume of 20,470 shares at a value of K104,349.07.

on markets abroad, U.S stocks continued to decline overnight as no progress seen to resolve the government shutdown while approaching the debt limit deadline in mid-October. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 136.34 points or 0.90% closing the market at 14,936.20 points. Asian shares gained with the Nikkei advancing 41.29 points (0.30%) ending at 13,894.60 points on Tuesday as data showed China’s services industry continued to expand. In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 Index fell 11.67 points or 0.23% closing at 5,149.44 points as investors wary of US debt-ceiling deadline.
