KSi Daily Report: Tuesday, 8 July 2014

Some moderate gains for both Kina Securities Indices as some stocks advanced on POMSoX Tuesday. The main index KSi added 2.92 points (+0.08%) to 3,737.85, while the Home index KSHi jumped 50.86 points (+0.64%) to 7,958.16 points supported by strong show in an agricultural stock.

Two gains registered on POMSoX compared to none that lost for the day.

City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) covered yesterday’s losses adding 1 toea to K1.79 and New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBO) advanced 29 toea to end the day’s session at K15.30.

Stocks unchanged for the day included Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) which closed steady at K7.40, followed closely by another financial stock, Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) closing at K2.70. Meanwhile, Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) was also stable at 10 toea and NGIP Agmark Ltd (NGP) closed 79 toea even.

BSP unsecured notes (BSPHA), the only debit-note stock had also transacted at K26,100.00, down K1,900.00.

Today’s session recorded a total volume of 75,220 shares with a total value of K119,806.21.

In New York, U.S stock market gave up some gains that ended the Dow Jones Industrial Average slightly above 17,000 as investors wary of Thursday’s stronger-than-expected job reports. The Index slipped 44.05 points or 0.26% to 17,024.21 points. The Nikkei fell on profit-taking after the bourse reached a 5 month high last week. The Average gave up 65 points or 0.42% to end at 15,314 points. Australian ASX also ended lower following the weakness from the Wall Street with the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 falling 8.01 points to 5,510.90 points today.
