Tuesday’s trading session closed on moderate trading as the Kina Securities main index KSi stayed with the home index unchanged. The Kina Securities main index KSi rose 46.20 points or 1.32% to 3,553.48 points while the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi remained at 9,744.14 points.
One stock gained versus nil losses today.
PNG’s leading oil and gas stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was the winning stock, gaining 49toea to close higher at K16.00.
Other stocks included financials Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) and Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) were unmoved at K2.60 and K7.35 flat. Exploration mining stocks Highlands Pacific Ltd (HIG) and Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) ended at 14toea and 4toea even respectively.
Total shares transacted today were 59,354 units worth K123,526.88.
In New York, U.S stocks erased modest gains in last few minutes of trading finishing slightly lower in overnight trading session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 11.61 points or 0.06% to 18,116.04 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average fell on Tuesday as a weak factory activity survey in China and drop in U.S markets weighed on investor confidence. The Nikkei share average shed 40.91 points or 0.21% to 19,713.45 points.
Australian share market edged higher as investors await for catalyst to drive it through 6,000 points mark. The S&P/ASX 200 added 12.95 points or 0.22% to 5,969.08 points today.
