Tuesday’s POMSOX trading session saw both Kina Securities Indices headed in opposite directions amid a moderate trading. The Kina Securities Main Index KSi gained 44.17 points or 1.28% to 3,494.92 points while the Home Index KSHi closed 9.24 points or 0.10% lower at 9,508.47 points.
Two stocks gained compared to another stock that lost today.
The advances were attributed to the home-listed cum retail stock City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) at K1.44, adding 1toea. PNG’s Oil and gas stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) closed 50toea higher to end at K16.00 despite a weak performance on ASX today at $7.88.
On the downside, financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) registered trades at K7.12, slicing off 2toea.
Today’s POMSOX trading registered 6,618 shares valued at K40,195.36.
In overseas news, U.S stocks surged in overnight trading with technology and industrial sector gains out-weighing losses in energy and healthcare. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 154.64 points or 0.87% to 17,959.44 points. Japanese stocks advanced on Tuesday as the Nikkei share average added 14 points or 0.08% to 17,635 points. The Australian share market rallied in the past four sessions in a row was halted by commodities fall. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 shed 61.06 points or 1.12% to 5,380.90 points.
