Tuesday’s POMSOX trading session was quiet but both Kina securities Indices were weaker. The main Index, KSi declined 0.83 points to end at 3,643.87 points. The Home Index, KSHi, closed lower at 8,118.96 points, down by 5.32 points or 0.15% today.
There were three trades registered today as two fell against one stock that remained unchanged.
On the down side, leading financial institution Bank South Pacific (BSP) finished at K7.77, shedding a toea. A dual-listed mining exploration company Highlands Pacific Ltd (HIG) closed also a toea lower at 20 toea.
Papua New Guinea’s leading Oil and gas company, Oil Search Ltd (OSH) maintained at K17.86 at the close of market.
In the New , U.S stocks ended with broad gains on Monday, recovering some grounds lost in the previous week as investors took cue from unexpected strong rise in the March retail sales . The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 146.49 points or 0.91% to end at 16,173.24 points. Emerging stocks on the Asian market slid a third day and commodities fell due to the slowest Chinese money supply growth. In Japan, Nikkei share average rose 87 point or 0.62% to close at 14,010 points. Likewise, Australian share market followed the lead of Wall Street as the S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index closed high at 5,388.20 points, up by 29.3 points or 0.55% today.
