Both Kina Securities stock indices closed on a positive note amid an active trading session on Tuesday. The Kina Securities main index KSi collected 8.31 points or 0.17% at 4,812.67 points. Likewise, the Kina Securities Home Index, KSHi surged 197.01 points or 1.91% at 10,534.56 points.
Banking and financial stock Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) added 10toea to close at K2.70. Followed closely by Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) ending 20toea higher to end at K9.00. Oil Search Ltd (OSH) gained a toea at K17.51.
Other stocks traded included were Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) and City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) at K1.68 and K1.15 flat respectively. Mining giant Newcrest Mining Ltd evened out at K46.00 at the close.
Today’s trades recorded a considerable volume of 50,499 units at a monetary value of K269,184.72,
U.S stocks rallied finishing near session highs and taking back a chunk of Friday’s losses as the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 239.62 points or 1.3% to close at 18,325.07 points. Japanese stocks were flat unable to build on small opening gains after sliding to two-week lows the previous day as solid yen snapped risk appetite. The Nikkei share average added 56.12 points or 0.34% at 16,729.04 points. The Australian share market lost early gains to finish at its lowest level since July on renewed investor concerns. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 was down 11.8 points or 0.23% at 5,207.80 points.
