Tuesday’s POMSOX trading session was quiet as the Kina Securities Indices increased marginally higher. The Kina Securities main index or KSi rose 0.09points to 3,606.59 points and meanwhile the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi collected 2.62 points or 0.03% to 9,763.13 points at the close.
One out of two stocks traded today gained, compared to nil losses.
Pharmaceutical retail stock City Pharmacy Ltd contributed to the slight movement in the Kina Securities Indices. The stock finished 10toea higher to close at K1.47.
Financial stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) both closed unchanged at K2.70 and K7.41 at the close of market today.
In New York, U.S stocks ended Monday’s thinly traded session slightly lower, giving back some of the gains from Friday’s post-jobs rally as the Dow Jones Industrial Average sliced 85.94 points or 0.47% to 18,105.17 points. Japanese share prices slipped on Tuesday, failing gains in the last two sessions and slipping further off a 15-year high. The Nikkei share average fell 19.54 points or 0.10% to 19,601.37 points. Australian stock market has had modest bounce after five consecutive days of falls with mixed performance on banking and mining stocks. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 rose 44.57 points or 1.29% to 5,669.80 points.
