Tuesday’s POMSOX trading session closed on the green as both Kina Securities stock indices closed higher amid an active session. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 1.56 points or 0.03% to 4,630.16 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi rose 49.25 points or 0.51% to 9,766.95 points.
One stock gained compared to nil losses.
Banking and financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the winning stock for the day, closing 5toea higher to end at K8.20.
Meanwhile, Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) were both unmoved at K1.68 and K17.00 flat respectively.
The day’s trades recorded a total of 48,594 units at a monetary value of K194,824.92.
In overseas markets, the U.S markets rose following last week’s strong jobs report with other major indexes finishing higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 37 points or 0.20% to 18,184 points. Japan’s Nikkei average rallied as investors took heart from a sliding yen and hopes for fiscal stimulus that Tokyo is expected to launch. The Nikkei rose 386.83 points or 2.46% to 16,095.65 points. The Australian share market continued to trade higher as the local bourse was up by almost one per cent, with major banks and big miners leading the way. The S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index was 44.9 points or 0.84% at 5,382 points.
