POMSOX trading session on Tuesday closed on the green as both stock indices gained ground. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 10.01 points or 0.19% at 5,298.08 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi rose 9.85 points or 0.09% to 11,047.53 points.
Dual-listed energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was up 9toea to finish higher at K17.90. Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) added a toea to close at K9.51.
Junior cap explorer, Highlands Pacific Ltd (HIG) was evened out at 16toea.
Stocks rose moderately helping the three main stock benchmarks to close at all-time highs, marking the 26th time this year simultaneous records have been set. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 9.23 points to 23,548.42 points. Japan’s Nikkei index jumped to a near 26-year-high as foreign investors piled in on expectations of strong earnings from Japan Inc. The Nikkei surged 389.25 points or 1.73% to close at 22,937.60 points. The Australian benchmark climbed back over the 6000 level for the first time in almost a decade with resources and banks lifting the index to post GFC-highs. The S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index ended up 60 points to close at 6,014 points.
