Tuesday’s POMSOX trading session was rather quiet as both Kina Securities stock indices ended on a negative note. The Kina Securities main index, KSi was down 3.11 points or 0.07% at 4,765.49 points. Similarly, the Kina Securities Home Index, KSHi slipped 98.51 points or 0.92% at 10,641.15 points.
Banking and financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the only stock traded for the day. The stock closed 10toea lower at K9.00, registering a total of 1,129 shares valued at K10,161.00
U.S stocks closed lower in overnight trading on renewed concerns on Brexit and Deutsche Bank’s liquidity. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 54.30 points or 0.3% to close at 18,253.85 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average rose with exporters up after the yen weakened against upbeat U.S data as the as the benchmark Nikkei rose 136.98 points or 0.83% at 16,735.65 points. The Australian share market rebounded to finish slightly higher after the Reserve Bank held the cash rate at 1.5 per cent. At the close, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index gained 5.5 points or 0.1% at 5,484 points.
