Tuesday’s POMSOX trading session was unchanged as both stock indices were maintained on the first trading day of August. The Kina Securities main index KSi was flat at 4,989.65 points and likewise the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was unmoved at 11,156.28 points.
Financial stock Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) was the only stock traded today. The stock transacted a light volume of 392 shares worth K697.76.
In off-shore market news, the Dow Industrials finished at an all-time high but the broader market’s gains were hobbled by losses in the technology sector. The DJIA was rose 69.00 points or 0.32% to end at a high of 21,911.00 points. Japan’s Nikkei rose buoyed by companies reporting strong earnings though gains were tempered by a stronger yen. The Nikkei share average gained 49.29 points or 0.25% to 19,974.47 points. The Australian market closed on the back of mixed results despite stocks remaining above the flat-line until close. Materials and energy sector gained most significantly while health care was the worst performer of the session. S&P/ASX 200 climbed to 5,720.60 points by 17.80 points higher or 0.31%.
