Thursday’s POMSOX trading session edged higher amid a moderate session with both stock indices closing positively. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 0.31 points or 0.01% to 4,764.07 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi gained 9.85 points or 0.09% to 10,639.10 points.
Home-listed banking stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) closed higher by a toea to end at K8.96.
Meanwhile, Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) and Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) both evened out at K1.90 and K2.70 flat respectively. Followed closely by Oil Search Ltd (OSH) at K17.50.
Today’s session transacted a total of 16,949 shares at a monetary value of K46,488.38.
In off-shore news, U.S stocks closed mostly lower as Apple, the largest U.S company by market cap, tumbled as the Dow Jones shed 18.00 points or 0.10% to 18,110.00 points. In Tokyo, Japanese stocks dropped in choppy trade as investors were wary of earnings with the benchmark Nikkei declining 55.42 points or 0.32% to 17,336.42 points. The Australian market closed lower with broad – based sell offs across the board and sectors experiencing negative results. The S&P/ASX 200 fell 64.30 points or 1.20% to 5,295.50 points.
