Thursday’s POMSOX trading session saw one stock index gaining amid thin trading. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 53.79 points or 1.08% to 5,043.44 points while the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was steady at 11,156.28 points.
Dual-listed energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) edged up by 50toea to close at a high of K17.50.
Banking and financial stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) were both unchanged at K9.60 and K2.60 flat respectively.
The day’s session recorded a volume of 11,527 shares worth K89,161.10.
In markets abroad, U.S stock market benchmarks finished modestly higher with the Dow Jones Industrial Average advancing 97.58 points or 0.5% to close at a record of 21,711.01 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average inched up in choppy trade, rising 91.88 points or 0.46% to 2,142.04 points. The Australian market was modestly higher tracking positive cues after unchanged rates by the Feds. The S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index gained 16.10 points or 0.28% to 5,792.70 points.
