Wednesday’s trading session on POMSOX closed higher as both stock indices rose. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 38.23 points or 0.72% to 5,313.89 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi advanced 49.26 points or 0.45% to 11,037.68 points.
Two stocks gained while one was maintained.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) rose 5toea to finish higher at K9.50. Oil Search Ltd (OSH) gained 20toea to end at a high of K18.05 at the close.
Bank South Pacific Unsecured notes (BSPHA) was unchanged at the price of K25, 000.00.
U.S stocks closed higher with the Dow ending in record territory, supported by earnings results that continued to come in ahead of expectations. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 167.80 points or 0.72% to finish at 23,442.00 points. Asian shares edged higher as the Nikkei aimed for the 17th straight gain. The Nikkei share average was slid 97.62 points or 0.45% to finish at 21,707.55 points. The Australian share market trod water for another day with miners and energy companies leading the gains as the S&P/ASX 200 index rose a mere 7points or 0.1% to close at 5,905.00 points.
