KSi Daily Report: Thursday, 23 October 2014

Both Kina Securities stock indices gained grounds to conclude high after POMSOX trading closed Thursday. The Main Index KSi collected 9.10 points to 3,822.99 points while the Home index KSHi surged 170.53 points or 1.85% to end at 9,382.88.

The session recorded a stock that gained versus another stock that lost.

The advances of indices was attributed to the home-listed agricultural stock New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBO) which registered a gain of K1.00 to K25.00.

On the downside, Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) closed lower by one toea as the junior cap mining explorer ended at 7 toea.

Kina Asset Management Ltd (KAM), a portfolio management stock and another financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) closed at K1.06 and K7.14 even respectively. Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was traded at K19.22.

The day’s trading registered a total of 27,469 shares valued at K21,729.81.

In overseas, U.S stocks suffered in overnight trading snapping its four day winning streak , as the DJIA was lowered by 153.49 points (-0.92%) to 16,461.32 points. The Nikkei slipped after oil prices drop and Wall Street shares fell. The share average fell 50 points (-0.33%) to end at 15,146 points. Australian shares were set weaker following falls on Wall Street as investors still cautious after the volatility of the past few weeks. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 dropped 2.73 points or 0.05% at 5,383.14 points.
