POMSOX trading session on Thursday was active as both Kina Securities Stock Indices headed in opposite directions. The Kina Securities main index KSi slumped 120.99 points or 2.53% to 4,661.53 points. Meanwhile the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi collected 9.86 points or 0.09% at 10,581.77 points.
A stock gained compared to another that lost in today’s session.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) added a toea to close high at K8.96.
On the downside, dual-listed energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) declined by K1.20 to close lower at K16.00.
Stocks traded however remained unchanged were Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) and Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) at K1.81 and K2.70 flat respectively. Followed by junior cap explorer Highlands Pacific Ltd (HIG) and NGP evening out at 18toea and 60toea respectively.
The day’s session transacted a total of 58,880 shares valued at K334,278.14.
In markets abroad, U.S stocks finished higher in overnight trading after the Feds decision to keep interest rates unchanged as the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 5.90 points or 0.44% at 1,337.40 points. Japanese stocks rose nearly 2 percent after BOJ overhauled its monetary policy, potentially erasing pressure on banks and insurers. The benchmark Nikkei average ended up 19%, its biggest one-day percentage rise at 16,807.62 points. The Australian share market lifted, led by resource and energy giants on the back of a strong finish on Wall Street. The S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index was up 48.1 points or 0.89% at 5,387.80 points.
