Both stock indices closed positively on Thursday’s POMSOX trading session. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 0.34 points or 0.01% to 4,878.60 points. Similarly, the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi rose 9.85 points or 0.09% to 11,067.82 points.
One stock gained compared to nil losses.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) ended on a high, adding a toea to end at K9.52.
Meanwhile, Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) was maintained at K2.57 flat at the close.
The day’s session registered a total of 7,179 shares valued K54,485.78.
U.S markets closed mostly lower weighed down by losses in the energy sector as oil prices continued to slide. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 57.11 points or 0.27% to 21,410.03 points. Japanese shares shed early gains and edged down as a stronger yen took its toll on market sentiment as the Nikkei share average closed flat by 3.30 points or 0.02% at 20,142.09 points. The Australian share market rebounded after the previous session’s sell-off and despite the mixed cues overnight after another sharp fall in oil prices. Benchmark S&P/ASX 200 added 28.50 points or 0.50% to 5,694.20 points
