Thursday’s trading session ended active trading as one stock index gained ground. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 1.07 points or 0.02% to end at 4,993.10 points while the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was unchanged at 11,156.28 points.
Dual-listed energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) added a toea to finish higher at K17.02.
Banking and financial stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) both evened out at K9.60 and K1.78 flat respectively.
A total volume of 116,679 shares were recorded at a monetary value of K1,128,174.42.
U.S stocks closed higher following gains in the energy and materials sectors with all main benchmarks hitting new records on upbeat earnings. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was gained 66.02 points or 0.3% to close at a record of 21,640.75 points. Japanese stocks rose with investor sentiment bright after record highs on Wall Street. Japan’s Nikkei share average was climbed 123.73 points or 0.62% to 20,144.59 points. The Australian stock market extended gains from the previous session as investors digested local corporate earnings and production results as the S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index rose 32.70 points or 0.57% to 5,764.80 points.
