Both Kina Securities stock indices gained, closing on positive territories. The Kina Securities main index or KSi was up 4.97 points or 0.10% at 4,747.69 points. The Kina Securities Home Index, KSHi rose 157.61 points or 1.57% to 10,212.20 points.
One out of two stocks traded today closed higher versus nil losses.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the sole winner for the day, adding 16toea to close at K8.66.
Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was unmoved, maintaining at K17.50.
The day’s trading registered a total of 22,425 units valued at K197,329.86.
U.S stocks closed slightly higher after sharply paring earlier losses as Fed rate-hike debate rages on. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 21.92 points or 0.12% at 18,573.94 points. Japanese stocks dropped to a near two-week low as a strong yen soured investor risk appetite and dragged stocks lower across the board. The Nikkei fell 1.6% to 16,486.01, the lowest level since August 5. The Australian stock market slipped into negative territory on Thursday, in cautious ahead of unemployment data. The benchmark S7P/ASX 200 index declined 20.10 points or 0.36% to 5,514.90 points.
