The Kina Securities main stock index, the KSi, closed marginally lower today with one small cap miner losing ground. The index ended almost flat at 3,740.77 points. Meanwhile, the home index or the KSHi remained steady at 8,065.08 points.
The stock that lost for the session was Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) at 7 toea, down a toea.
Stocks that traded unchanged were led by the financials bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) at K7.20 and K2.60 respectively, followed by city Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) at K1.50. New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBO) also registered a few trades at K17.00 flat.
A total of 37,903 units were traded worth K27,715.19 for today’s session
In markets abroad, US. stocks rose in an overnight session as Apple Inc. and other tech stocks helped lead the way higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 54.84 points, or 0.3%, to 17,068.71 points. The Nikkei rose 120 points or 0.76% to end at 15,909, extending their rally from a 2008 high while consumer stocks slid. Australian share market closed lower following uncertainty on overseas market and consumer confidence. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 declined 30.38 points or 0.55% to 5,543.90 points today.
