Both stock indices gained ground to close on the green on Thursday’s POMSOX trading session. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 1.40 points or 0.03% to 4,827.29 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi advanced 9.66 points or 0.09% at 11,116.69 points.
There were three stocks that gained compared to nil losses today.
Agmark NGIP Ltd (NGP) gained 10toea to close at a high of 80toea today. Followed by energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) which added a toea to finish at K17.51. Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) also ended higher at K1.78 by a 3toea rise.
Meanwhile, other stocks traded unchanged were Kina Asset Management Ltd (KAM) and Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) at 96toea and K46.00 flat respectively.
The day’s session transacted a volume of 21,936 units worth K26,794.85.
U.S shares closed mostly higher on the back of gains in technology, healthcare, and financial shares following the release of Fed’s policy meeting minutes. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed mostly flat at 21,421.00 points, up by 1.00 points. Japanese stocks edged down as ongoing tensions around North Korea continued to sap risk appetite as the Nikkei share average 100.72 points or 0.50% 19,980.91 points. The Australian stock market declined extending losses from the previous session following mixed cues overnight and the plunge in crude oil prices. S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index was down 18.10 points or 0.31% to 5,745.20 points.
