Both stock indices closed positively on Thursday’s POMSOX trading session. The Kina Securities main index KSi rose 20.57 points or 0.38% at 5,465.15 points and likewise the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi collected 10.82 points or 0.10% to 11,078.95 points.
Two stocks rose compared to another that lost.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was up by a toea, ending higher at K9.41. Oil Search Ltd (OSH) also gained by 20toea closing at a high of K17.75.
Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) shed 10toea to finish at a low of K1.85.
City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) and Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) both evened out at K1.00 and K2.60 flat respectively.
A registered volume of 9,024 shares valued K22,604.81 were transacted today.
U.S markets closed lower on the back of falls in financial and energy stocks after oil prices dropped and the Fed’s March meeting minutes were released. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 26.00 points or 0.13% to 20,551.00 points. Japanese shares tumbled to a four-month low after U.S shares tumbled overnight on signs of Fed’s cutting its balance sheet. The Nikkei share average dropped 293.07 points or 1.55% to 18,568.20 points. Australian stock market declined following the negative cues overnight from Wall Street as the S&P/ASX 200 benchmark lost 21.70 points or 0.37% to 5,854.50 points.
