The month of June opened on rather quiet note as both stock indices were maintained on Thursday’s POMSOX trading session. The Kina Securities main index KSi was steady at 4,882.07 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was unmoved at 11,128.88 points.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd were both evened out at K9.58 and K1.78 respectively. Followed closely by Oil Search Ltd (OSH) which was maintained at K18.01 at the close.
A total of 3,043 shares were registered at a value of K21,415.37.
U.S stocks finished lower after a slump in bank shares and a mixed batch of economic reports weighed on investor sentiment. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 20.82 points or 0.10% at 21,008.65 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average started the month with gains buoyed by upbeat news of Japanese companies growing capital expenditure as well as dollar’s increase overnight against the yen. The Nikkei was up 192.05 points or 0.98% to end at 19,842.62 points.
