POMSoX was quiet on the first business day of February with only one stock traded Monday. The Kina Securities main index, the KSi, was flat at 3,872.99 points, the same went to the KSHi, the Home index, which ended at 8,210.38 points unchanged.
Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) was the only stock that traded for the whole session, registering a total volume of 4,783 shares at K2.60 worth K12,435.80.
In U.S, New York stocks ended the month with deep losses following a sell off on Friday, on disappointing earnings and a continuing retreat in emerging markets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 149.76 points, or 0.94%, lower at 15,698.85. Japan’s Nikkei share average dropped 242.65 points or 1.63% at 14,673.35 points on Monday, extending last week’s declines after China’s manufacturing data slowed. Likewise, ASX share market closed slightly lower on losses by banks and other financial stocks, with the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index down 2.1 points, or 0.04% to 5,187.90 points.
