POMSOX trading opened the week on a rather quiet session. The Kina Securities Main Index KSi added 0.61 points or 0.02% to 3,555.79 points while the Home Index or KSHi stayed at 9,758.40 points.
Only two stocks traded with one registered gain.
Junior exploration stock Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) was the winning stock for the day, gaining a toea to close at 4toea. Meanwhile, financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) traded unchanged at K7.44.
Total shares registered were 244,993 units worth K25,620.92
U.S stocks were significantly flat as Greece indicates likely default on its debts. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 56.32 points or 0.31% to 17,946.68 points. Japan’s Nikkei slipped to a more than a one-week low as risks of Greece defaulting debt repayment lingers. The Nikkei share average suffered with 596.20 points lower or 2.88% to 20,109.95 points. Australian share market also down sharply on Monday on signs that China has entered bear market, and Hong Kong stocks tumbled. The S&P/ASX 200 slumped 123.39 points or 2.22% down to 5,422.50 points at the close today.
