Both Kina Securities stock indices opened the trading week on positive note on POMSoX Monday. The main index inched up 0.43 points (+0.01%) at 3,458.95 points and the home index or KSHi climbed 13.61 points (+0.14%) to 9,744.44 points at the close of market.
One stock gained compared to an equal number of losses.
Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) was the sole winner for the session closing higher at K2.55 after adding 5toea.
Meanwhile, Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) declined 2 toea K7.40.
Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was the other stock traded however remained unchanged at K15.00.
Monday’s trading registered a total volume of 10,407 shares at a value of K70,362.65.
In overseas news, U.S. stocks fell for the fourth straight session on Friday, leaving indexes with the biggest weekly losses in months. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 163.39 points, or 0.9%, to 17,568.53. in Japan today, the Nikkei share average fell, hit by losses in U.S. shares after dismal corporate earnings. The Index dropped 180.26 points or 0.88% to 20,364.27 points. Similarly, The Australian shares are slightly lower weighed down by falling commodity prices. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index fell 11.80 points or 0.21% at 5,577.90 points.
