KSi Daily Report: Monday, 23 October 2017

The week’s POMSOX trading session opened on a quiet note as one stock index closed on the green. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 15.06 points or 0.29% to end at 5,291.02 points. Meanwhile, the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was unchanged at 10,997.30 points.

One stock index gained compared to nil losses.

Dual-listed energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) gained 14toea to close higher at K17.85.

Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) was maintained at K1.78 at the close.

Monday’s trading session transacted a thin volume of 4,075 shares worth K16, 204.49.

U.S stocks extended gains with major indexes closing at records after a budget blueprint was passed by the Senator. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied 165.59 points or 0.71% to 23,328.63 points. Japanese shares jumped on a weaker yen due to an election win for Abe as the Nikkei share average surged 239.01 points or 1.11% to 21,696.65 points. The Australian stock market was modestly higher following positive cues overnight as the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 collected 7.90 points to 5,914.20 points.
