KSi Daily Report: Monday, 17 August 2015

Kina Securities stock indices ended weaker amid modest trading on POMSOX today. The main index KSi closed at 3,479.88, down 0.42 points while the home index KSHi fell 13.11 points or 0.13% to 9,698.02 points.

Four stocks that traded for the day with one that retreated.

City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) dipped 5 toea to land at K1.39.

PNG’s leading financial stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) traded at K7.40 and K2.50 even respectively. The big miner stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) and Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) were flat at K15.00 and K25.00 respectively.

Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) was not traded today, still holding at K2.80.

Monday’s trade registered a total of 4,343 units at value of K26,586.56.

In New York, U.S stocks closed higher Friday after a choppy start preserving slim gains over a tumultuous week marked by turmoil abroad over the timing of the Feds plans to raise interest rates. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 69.15 points or 0.40% to 17,477.40 points. The Nikkei share average gained 40.11 points or 0.20% to 20,559.56 points as Japanese shares rose on relief after GDP contraction not as bad as expected. Australian share market was higher boosted by some positive company earnings reports. At the close on ASX, the S&P/ASX200 added 17.26 points or 0.32% to 5,373.80 points.
