In overseas news, U.S stocks were pummeled Friday as investors rattled by concerns about the health of the global economy, fueled tripled-digit losses in blue-chip stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded its biggest weekly decline since Sep 2011 dropping 315.51 points or 1.79% to 17,280.83. Japanese stocks fell to their lowest in four weeks on Monday as oil prices tumbled to a new 5 1/2 year low. The Nikkei benchmark lost 272.18 points or 1.57 to close at 17,099.40 points. Australian Shares followed the downward trend with the S&P/ASX200 closing 33.50 points or 0.64% lower at 5,186.10 points with the free-falling oil price weighing heavily on investor sentiment. At the point of writing, Sydney is still rattled with uncertainty events developing from the hostages taken in a chocolate shop in the CBD area.
