Monday’s POMSOX trading session edged lower as both stock indices declined. The Kina Securities Main index KSi was down 0.32 points or 0.01% to 4,775.35 points. The Kina Securities Home Index KSHi fell 9.85 points or 0.09% to 10,665.24 points.
Home-listed financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the only stock traded today. The stock shed a toea to close lower at K8.99, registering a total of 3,000 shares valued at K26,970.00.
U.S stocks charged higher following through to the upside in overnight trading with the Dow Jones Average rose 118.00 points or 0.63% to 18,905.00 points. Japanese stocks rose as sagging yen bolstered exporter shares while expectations that Trump’s policies will stoke inflation and upbeat economic data at home underpinned financials and market’s outlook. The Nikkei edged up 295.38 points or 1.7% to 17,670.17 points. The Australian stock market declined following lackluster cues from Wall Street and lower commodity prices as the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 shed 38.80 points or 0.72% to 5,331.90 points.
