POMSOX opened the week in moderate trading with mixed performance. At the close, Kina Securities main index KSi added 3.10 points or 0.08% at 3,768.59 points, while Home Index KSHi fell 7.04 points or 0.08% to 8,540.03.
One stock fell along with another that rose for the session as the rest of stocks were unchanged.
Oil Search Ltd (OSH), the largest oil and gas company in PNG ended on a positive note as it added 1toea to K19.11.
On the downside, the pharmaceutical and retail stock City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) closed at K1.75, shedding 5 toea.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) remained at K7.00 after registering a significant volume of 2,000,270 units valued at K14,001,890.00. followed by mining stock Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) at K25.00 flat.
A loan debt stock BSP unsecured notes (BSPHA), had also transacted at K26,100.00, but unchanged as session ended.
Today recorded total volume of 2,005,337 shares at a value of K14,051,565.00.
U.S stocks on Friday pared losses to end mostly higher as new economic data were absent . The Dow Jones Industrial Average slightly moved 28.74 points or 0.17% to 16,943.81. Asian stocks rose with its first gain in five days Monday. The Nikkei share average gained 129 points or 0.85% at 15,292 points. Australian stocks also closed positive, following lead from U.S stocks with the S&P/ASX 200 advancing 25.21 points or 0.46% to 5,512 points today.
