On Monday POMSoX trading was traded in quiet session with both Kina Securities stock indices ending unchanged at the close. The Main Index KSi was steady at 3,460.95 points and likewise, the Home Index KSHi was flat at 9,711.13 points.
A leader financial stock in terms of market capitalization, Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the only stock that traded today. The stock registered a total of only 705 units of shares valued at K5,217.00.
In overseas, U.S stocks were closed lower on Friday with the Dow Jones Industrials hitting its worst losing streak since 2011 despite jobs report matched economist’s estimate. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 46.37 points or 0.27% to 17,373.38 points. Japan’s Nikkei rose 84.13 points or 0.41% to 20,808.69 points as U.S jobs data bolstered bets that the Feds will raise interest rates as early as September. In Australia, a recovery among banking stocks has pushed shares broadly higher with the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index collecting 30.82 points or 0.56% to 5,506.60 points at the close today.
