POMSOX trading opened the second week of January in light mode. The Kina Securities main index, the KSi, edged slightly higher by -0.18% to 5,476.64 points, while the Home Index or KSHi was untouched at 10,890.73.
Only one stock fell during the day against none of other stocks that rose.
Oil Search Ltd (OSH) which was the only stock that traded lower at K18.01 , down a toea.
Meanwhile, Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) registered trades at K57.00 even followed by the financial institution Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) traded at K9.50 flat.
Today’s trades registered a total volume of 12,431 units at Kina value K124,227.63.
In markets abroad, New York’s Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) on Friday slightly advanced after news on positive unemployment data at 22.295.87, up 220.77 points or 0.88%. Japanese Nikkei share average added 208.20 points, 0.89%, closing at 23,714.53 points. The Australian S&P/ASX 200 Index closed 8 points higher at 6130.40 points, rising for a fourth straight session.
