Monday’s POMSOX trading was active as both Kina Securities Stock Indices closed positively. The Kina Securities Main Index KSi collected 7.07points or 0.15% at 4,708.43 points. The Kina Securities Home Index KSHi advanced 66.63 points or 0.67% at 9,960.14 points.
Two stocks gained amid another stock that was unmoved.
Banking and financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) rose 13toea to close at K8.45. Followed by Oil Search Ltd (OSH) added 5toea to end higher at K17.20.
Meanwhile, dual-listed financial stock Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) was steady at K2.51 unchanged.
The day’s trading transacted a combined total of 22,905 shares valued at K179,610.61.
U.S stocks closed higher on Friday after a stellar jobs report outstripped Wall Street expectations showing sustained improvement in labour market. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 19.00 points or 0.10% at 18,473.00 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average hit a one-week high on Monday, buoyed by gains on Wall Street and the yen’s retreat following Friday’s upbeat U.S non-farm payrolls report. The Nikkei gained 2.4% to 16,650.57 after hitting 16,652.04, its highest since August 1. The Australian stock market opened higher following the rally on Wall Street Friday on the back of upbeat U.S jobs data. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 added 32.70 points or 0.59% to 5,530.10 points.
