Monday’s POMSOX trading was thin as both Kina Securities stock indices remained unchanged. The main index KSi closed at 3,561.58 points and likewise the Home Index KSHi stayed at 9,598.65 points.
Only three stocks traded but all ended flat today.
Home-listed banking and finance stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) maintained at K7.45 and K2.30 respectively. Oil Search Ltd (OSH) finished at K16.00 even. In ASX, the dual-listed stock closed at $7.52, down 43c.
POMSOX registered a small volume of 3,842 shares at an exchanged hands valued at K32,654.58.
In markets abroad, U.S stocks rallied with the S&P 500 and Dow Industrials, posting the biggest gains in three months in overnight trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 369.96 points or 2.12% to 17,847.63 points. In Asia, Japanese stocks rose as US jobs data suggested that the economy was strong enough to sustain a rate hike by the Feds. The Nikkei share average advanced 252.28 points or 1.29% to 19,756.76 points. The Australian share market was higher but held in check by the under-pressure oil producers, in the red after falls in the commodity. Benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed flat at 4.09 points or 0.08% at 5,155.70 points.
