Monday’s trading saw both stock indices unchanged amid thin trading. The Kina Securities main index KSi was maintained at 4,984.22 points followed by the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi which was also unmoved at 11,002.73 points.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the only stock traded, recording a light volume of 348 shares worth K3,323.40.
In off-shore markets, U.S stocks closed higher with the Dow ending at a record for an eighth straight session following a read on the labor market that came in above expectations. The DJIA was gained 46.00 points or 0.21% at 22,063.00 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average rose led by sharp gains for Toyota Motor Corp after it upgraded its earnings outlook, surging 119.26 points or 0.60% to 20,071.59 points. The Australian market was lower as there was brief reprieve as stocks broke through the flat-line shortly after midday. S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index was down 13.50 points or 0.23% to 5,773.30 points.
