POMSOX stocks trading was quiet today but the Kina Securities main index edged higher at the close. The KSi was up 2.23 points (0.06%) at 3,727.78 points. Meanwhile the Kina Securities Home Index remained unchanged at 7,720.68 points.

Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) was the sole contributor to the positive movement of the indices as the stock gained 3 toea, ending at 8 toea.
Unmoved stocks for the day included leading financial stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) at K7.20 and K2.60 respectively. Oil Search Ltd (OSH) completed at K19.22 even amid thin trading volume.
The day’s trading recorded a total of 40,516 shares with a monetary value of K160,150.58.
U.S stocks surged on Friday after a better-than-expected employment report which showed below 6% in September, best since the financial crisis in 2008. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 208.64 points or 1.24% at 17,009.69. The Nikkei edged higher on upbeat bolstered sentiment U.S jobs report. Japan’s Nikkei share average climbed 182 points or 1.16% to 15,891 points. However, the Australian stock market went south, hitting a four-year low as weak iron ore prices weighed upon big miners with low trading volumes due to a public holiday across half the country. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 fell 25.30 points or 0.48% to 5,292.91 today.
