Friday’s POMSOX trading session was active and both Kina Securities indices edged slightly higher. The main index KSi added 0.7 points to 3,553.84 points while the Home index KSHi collected 1.41 points to 9,750.86 points.
Four stocks traded with only one gain recorded for the day.
Pharmacy store retail stock City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) added 1 Toea to end at K1.40.
The leader financial stock Bank South Pacific (BSP) traded unchanged closing at K7.36. Kina Asset Management Ltd (KAM) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) closed at K1.00 and K16.00 respectively. Meanwhile, a portfolio management company Kina asset management (KAM) traded about 1.33 million shares at K1.00, same price as previous close.
Total shares registered today were 1,333,339 units valued at K1,343,754.04.
In overseas markets, U.S stocks ended a choppy session lower declining for the fourth consecutive session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 40.31 points or 0.23% to 17,678.23 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average tumbled to a two-week low on Friday, led by futures selling as hedge funds took profits from recent gains. The Nikkei share average sliced 185.49 points or 0.95% to 19,285.63 points. The Australian share market bounced back recovering some of the previous session’s losses when the bourse posted its biggest one-day fall in more than three months. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 rose 40.88 points or 0.70% to 5,919.94 points.
