POMSoX returned from the Christmas Holiday on a quiet note with the Kina Securities main index, KSi, unchanged at 3,871.54 points and the home index or KSHi flat at 8,174.22 points at the close. There were no trade recorded for Friday session. In markets abroad, U.S. stocks rallied overnight, extending their record run after government data showed a decline in weekly jobless claims with Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 122.33 points, or 0.8%, to 16,479.88 points. In Asia, Japan’s Nikkei pulled back from a six-year high on Friday as investors took profit, shedding 5.55 points or 0.6% to 16,178.98 points. The Australian share market fell slightly, as early gains by retailers and banks faded during a subdued holiday season trading session with S&P/ASX200 index closing down 3.10 points, or 0.06% to 5,324.10 points.
