Kina Securities stock indices closed lower today giving up previous session’s gains as one agricultural stock lost ground. The main index KSi shed 9.85 points to 3,813.14 points while the home index KSHi slumped 170.53 points or 1.82% to 9,212.35 points.
One stock lost with none that gained for the session.
New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBO), the heavy weighted agricultural stock on POMSoX, moved K1 lower to K24.00 on modest volume.
City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) was flat at K1.48, was among those stocks that traded unchanged. Other two stocks included financial company Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) ended even at K7.12 and K19.22 respectively.
Friday’s trading registered a total trading volume of 5,042 units valued at K55,464.54.
U.S stocks rallied on Thursday after upbeat earnings reports. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 216.58 points or 1.32% to 16,677.90 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average advanced 153 points or 1.01% to 15,292 points to a 2-week high on weak yen with fears about Ebola bolstered Ebola-related stocks. Australian shares followed gains on broad Asian stocks rising today, aided by financials and yield stocks as the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 added 29.11 points or 0.54% to 5,412.25 points today.
