Kina Securities main index recovered slightly, up 0.32 points to close at 3,654.73 points. Meanwhile, the Home index, KSHi added 5.64 points, or 0.07% to finish the day’s session high at 8,293.15 points.

City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) helped lift the index as the sole listed pharmaceutical stock gained 4 toea to K1.94. The company says it will dividend of 7 Toea per share for the year 2013 to be paid in two equal tranches of 3.5 Toea per share on 19th May 2014 and 18th August 2014.
Other stocks traded but were ended flat for the day included Bank South Paciifc Ltd (BP) at K7.70 and Kina Asset Management Ltd (KAM) at K1.05, while Oil Search Limited (OSH) remained steady at K18.00. New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBO) was flat at K15.00.
Friday’s trading session recorded an moderate volume of 54,361 shares valued at K71,006.51.
In markets abroad, U.S stocks dipped in overnight trading as the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 21.97 points or 0.13% to end 16,558.87 points, a day after closing at its first record high of 2014. Asian stocks edged up amid expectations for a positive U.S payrolls report later tonight. The Nikkei share average shed 28 points or 0.19% to close at 14,458 points. Australian sharemarket was almost flat as investors closely watched U.S unemployment report. The S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index gained 9.34 points or 0.17% to end at 5,458.78 points today.
